Ingredients

dried echinacea root
1 tablespoon
water
2 cups
honey or maple syrup
1 teaspoon
fresh lemon (for serving)
1 slice

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a simmer or boil in a kettle or small saucepan.
  2. Place dried echinacea root in a teapot or tea infuser set inside a heatproof mug.
  3. Pour the hot water over the echinacea and cover to keep heat in.
  4. Steep for 10–12 minutes for a robust flavor, then strain out the herbs.
  5. Taste and sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired; serve with a lemon slice.
  6. Cool and refrigerate any leftovers within 2 hours; use within 48 hours.

Equipment: kettle or small saucepan, teapot or heatproof mug, fine mesh strainer or tea infuser.
